What is GRE
GRE is the abbreviation for Graduate Record Examination. GRE is accepted for most graduate programs worldwide (including business and law schools).
Aspirants can find a wide variety of career opportunities thanks to the growing number of businesses and the requirement to understand legal aspects. The best law and business schools overseas are increasingly appealing to students seeking business and law education. As a result of liberal policies and simplified migration methodologies, studying abroad has become more accessible. The only thing students need to do is pass the GRE® test.
GRE® is the abbreviation for “Graduate Record Examination”. GRE is accepted for most graduate programs. Students who aspire to get admission to the world’s recognized business schools and law schools especially need to take this standardised test. If you are a GRE® aspirant and wish to brighten your chances, you must know some things about GRE.
To appear for GRE® successfully, you must know the Test Format of GRE®. Here are some important aspects:
- Duration of the GRE® test is three hours and forty-five minutes. There are three sections to attempt.
- GRE® is a Computer Adaptive Test. In this pattern, the computer automatically decides whether the next question will be easier or tougher, depending on the answer to the previous question. For instance, if a candidate answers the first question correctly, the second question may be more challenging; on the contrary, if he answers it wrong, the following question will be easier. The same process is followed in every section.
- Candidates may skip a question and may reattempt the skipped questions later. This means candidates can decide which questions they wish to attempt first or afterwards.
You can register for GRE on the official website or via phone. The test is conducted at around 1000 centres in over 160 countries across the globe. It can be taken both online and offline. Candidates need to apply for the test at least 2 days before the choice test date.
The cost of the test is US$205 – 230 depending upon the region you are in.
ETS sends an email to the candidates as a notification when the result is released. The scores can be checked by logging in to the ETS account. The GRE score card is sent to the candidates within 10-15 days; the score card for the paper delivered test can take up to 5 weeks. The GRE score is valid for 5 years.
The GRE is scored on a scale of 130 – 170 in each section.
For the General Test:
- Verbal Reasoning score scale is 130 – 170 with one-point increment
- Quantitative Reasoning 130 – 170 with one-point increment
- Analytical Reasoning 0 – 6 with half-point increment
For the Subject Test:
- All subject tests score scale 290 – 990 with ten-point increment
Traditional offline way of teaching seems to be the best for a large number of candidates. Offline classes give a great opportunity to interact face-to-face with the trainer and to develop language skills. Let’s have a look at the other advantages of offline classes:
Interaction with peers: for such tests, one must get rid of the hesitation and an offline class with other students would let you talk and build your confidence level to a new extent.
Elevate your performance: studying with other students gives you the competitive spirit to outperform others. It is a positive reason for one to push their limits and prepare accordingly.
Effective discussions: whether it is a one-on-one class or with other students, offline classes give one the opportunity to discuss either with their fellow batchmates or with the trainer.
Online classes have been popularised during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are several candidates who either lack connectivity to good coaching centres or are busy with their jobs or other formalities of their abroad journey. Candidates who fall into this category benefit from taking online classes. Let’s have a look at the many advantages that you get while taking our online classes.
- Comfortable and cost-effective: studying in your comfort zone is better than anything else and the fact that you do not need to travel anywhere also saves you travel expenses. All you need is your smartphone or laptop and a good internet connection.
- Time-saving: you definitely get online classes according to your preferred timing. At the same time, you also save travel time as you do not need to reach anywhere for classes.
Lesser distractions and individual attention from the trainer: you could choose to get individual online classes with little to no distraction and individual attention from the trainer.
